Nutri-Slice

What’s for Dinner?

Here at the Lake Preston school, we have a new way to view our breakfast and lunch menus! It’s called Nutri-slice. To view the menus, please go to the departments tab on our new website. Please then click on the food/health services department. https://www.lakepreston.k12.sd.us/o/lpsd/page/foodhealth-services On the right side, you will find the Nutri-slice link. When you navigate through the Nutri-slice, it will not only show what will be served, it will also show dietary information about the meals like fiber and carb count, etc.

Another new change this year is our 1% milk is all lactose-free. Lactose-free milk is regular milk that's been refined to remove lactose, a natural sugar found in dairy products. Lactose-free milk contains the same nutrients as regular milk, and it's usually pasteurized using the same process. The main difference is that lactose-free milk has a much lower lactose content, but it is still milk. The chocolate milk provided is not lactose-free. Please reach out to me at Kristi.Curd@k12.sd.us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks, and have a great school year!
